Series Batting

The 1912 World Series, the rule hidden
In the 1912 World Series, the Red Sox beat the New York Giants four three games (with one tie).
This drama presented by Christy Mathewson pitching great and Smoky Joe Wood Boston fireballler. Wood won two of his three starts and pitched in relief in the final game. In the deciding game, Boston rallied for two points in the tenth round thanks to two Giants Fielding misplays costly.
Mathewson started three games, completed all three, compiled a 0.94 ERA for the series, but I two losses and one no-decision for his efforts.
Almost all the games were close. Four games of this series have been decided by a point. A fifth ended in a tie. A sixth was decided by two runs. Game 7 was the only one with a margin greater than three points. Two games, including 8 of the decisive game went to extra innings. In Games 1 and 3, the loser of the tying and winning runs on the base when the game ended.
This was the first series in which a series was decided in the final round of the final in "sudden death" or "sudden victory" fashion. It was also the first series where a team in a losing race returned to win. The next time a team close to victory was solved elimination Game 6 of the World Series in 1985. Other World Series that ended with a Game 7 (or in this case, Game 8, because of the cravat) extra innings will include the series of 1924, 1991 and 1997. Other World Series won by the team home in his last at-bat in Game 7 of the series include 1960, 1991, 1997 and 2001.
This was one of four World Series only eight games to go, and only the best of seven series to do so. While the 1912 series has been extended to eight games due to a tie be named because of darkness, 1903, 1919 and 1921 World Series were the best of all-new cases that occurred run to eight games.
The Series 1912 has been plagued by rumors that Game 7 was not fully played honestly. [1] Some observers, including the famous sportswriter Tim Murnane, Boston, theorized that terrible start Wood and the Red Sox Release poor were deliberate. The idea was that the Red Sox threw the game in order to play another game to compensate for gate receipts, they have not received game 2. No evidence has ever been proposed, nor the charges, but it was yet another episode of public distrust that haunts Several series in the 1910s. Baseball problems with the game did not come to a head until the infamous 1919 World Series Black Sox scandal title = "Black Sox" scandal. " The charge that the Red Sox wanted Thu 8 to increase revenue is a small charge, because from the beginning in 1903, the players have only money from the series the first four games. This rule exists precisely to avoid the kind of shenanigans suggested by the rumors. Wow Thats a new one!
